Two portable surface to air missiles were fired at a US C-141 transport as it took off at Baghdad airport. The two missiles apparently could not lock on to any of the four huge engines on C-141 and went out of control. Airport officials said that there had been other such incidents, using either old, and ineffective, Russian missiles, or RPGs. Airport officials do not consider these attacks to be particularly dangerous.
