Greece and Turkey signed several more bilateral cooperation agreements. These new agreements covered science, shipping, customs, economic ventures, and cultural exchange. But while the Greek-Turk rapprochement progresses, the difficulties associated with achieving a lasting Cyprus solution are apparent. February 3, Turk Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash accused Greek Cypriots of "avoiding the sovereignty issues" (ie, Turk Cypriot sovereignty). He accused Greek Cypriots of trying to force Turk Cypriots out of the Cyprus talks. The Greek Cypriots want a new, united state, while the Turks want some form of autonomy.
