In Baghdad, US Special Forces commandos arrested Abu Abbas, a wanted terrorist who had long been living in Iraq. Abbas lived openly in Iraq, as did several other wanted terrorists. It is suspected that many other wanted terrorists took refuge secretly in Iraq and it appears that they are being sought. But many of these terrorists are suspected of fleeing to Syria, which has also provided sanctuary for terrorists wanted in the West. A senior Iraqi intelligence official, wanted to platting to kill president George Bush in 1993, was spotted yesterday in Syria.
