The LRA is once again attacking Christian targets in Uganda. Ugandan military sources and NGO sources reported the rebels from the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) attacked a Roman Catholic missionary facility (the Pajule Catholic Mission) in Kitgum District. No one was reported injured, in part because a Ugandan military unit in the area responded quickly. The LRA unit (reports suggest a patrol, or looting detachment more likely) fled down a road. There were no reports of military casualties.

January 26 , 2001; The Ugandan government said that Uganda had achieved its objectives inside the DRC and would consider pulling out its troops. Recall Uganda made a similar statement last fall. However, in the wake of Laurent Kabilas assassination, this could be a signal from Kampala that Uganda is interested in negotiating a withdrawal agreement from the Congo.
