Rebels backed by Iraq reported that they defeated an attack on one of their camps (45 kilometers north of Basra, on the Iranian border.) The rebels said the attackers were working for the Iranian government (which is likely). Periodically, Iran makes air and artillery attacks on these camps just across the border in Iraq. The rebels don't have a lot of support inside Iran, mainly because most Iranians are trying to avoid a civil war with the religious conservatives that control the
