NGOs have loudly complained of the lack of security in some parts of the country, but the Afghans consider the Taliban activities very low key, at least by Afghan standards. While there are still pro-Taliban villages and tribes, the Afghans know who they are and this limits how far the Taliban fighters can go. For this reason, many of the attackers are imported from Pakistan. The US is still arguing with Pakistan about going after the Taliban camps in Pakistan.
