June 9, 2009: The Arab language media are carrying stories of how Hamas has seized tons of donated medical supplies in Gaza, and putting the stuff in Hamas controlled warehouse. The medical supplies are then only distributed to those who have proved their loyalty to Hamas, or simply sold in the markets. Hamas also seized at least 46 donated ambulances, repainted them, and turned them over to Hamas police and militia units. This has enraged the media in Persian Gulf countries, which donated most of the medical supplies, for treating civilians injured during the 22 day war with Israel earlier this year. But instead, Hamas is seizing much of this aid to support the fight against anti-Hamas groups in Gaza.
